I went to make some refreshing frozen drinks and the blender decided not to cooperate. Replacement part on the way. Will be here well after the holiday is over. :(
For some reason, they call this part the “clutch”. I don’t see any parts that slip, just a gear that meshes with the gear on the bottom of the pitcher. It meshes no more.
Bummer.

My blender lost the equivalent part on the bottom of the pitcher. Disappointing time to lose it though.

Look at the bright side. You could hand shake it and have super toned arms by the end of the holiday.

Had one of those bullet blenders kinda like this. Peanut butter protein powder whatever shake. PB locked up the blades and the blender fins ground right through them in seconds. Hamilton Beach makes a good $20 one

Using the hammer to crush the ice might be fun, but I'll never be able to get the same smooth texture with these noodley arms. I guess everything is going to be on the rocks tonight.

The replacement part is only $10. It's just getting it here in a timely manner.

Oh, I didn’t notice it was a Cuisinart. Better idea repairing than replacing

Dude just join me on the dark side. It’s ok when you get used to it.

I got one of those ninja blenders as a gift a few years back. First time I used it for margaritas it self destructed in the same way.
Got an Oster as a replacement and it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it.
...but when in doubt, Blendtec I presume.

But it’s not FROZEN! After a long afternoon outside, I want, no NEED, something really, really cold.

Funny thing is that the part isn't available from Cuisinart. I'm so glad it's widely available through other vendors. It's a pain to replace. The motor has to be removed to get access to the axle lock so the nut can be unscrewed.

Sounds like a good time to upgrade to a bigger motor.

That’s what the coozie is for! Dr. Pepper (or can of whatever you choose) and tequilla were in the freezer. It was 99 here today and it’s plenty cold enough for me. But I’m the kind that would be just fine with a 33 degree Bud Light. More on topic, I have a similar Cuisinart blender. It hasn't broken, but it is pretty useless for making frozen drinks. I've had better luck with our Magic Bullet. In fact, I've had bad luck with Cuisinart stuff in general. The only Cuisinart thing I own that had been with the price premium is a coffee grinder.

Ahhhh. Makes more sense.

Eh a little. It’s 10:30 now and the temperature just dropped below 90 so I’ve moved on to cider tall boys while sitting on my deck watching all of my neighbors set off fireworks :)
